Paper Towns

“What a treacherous thing to believe that a person is more than a person.”

This book is about Quentin Jacobsen, who enjoys routine, until one night, his crush and the love of his life, Margo Roth Spiegelman climbs through his window. She gets him to come with her on a revenge-filled trip. They seek revenge in the most unique ways, such as peeling off the school bully’s left eyebrow, or taking pictures of Margo’s naked ex-boyfriend and blackmailing him by threatening to expose them. However, the next morning, Margo is gone. Quentin knows that Margo has definitely left some clues for people to hopefully find her. Quentin, determined to find Margo, follows the clues with his best friends, Ben and Radar. Along the way, there are some ups and downs, like finding a clue to Margo’s location or falling out with Ben because Ben chooses to nurse his hangover instead of help Quentin find Margo. In the end, when Quentin finds out where Margo is, he leads Ben, Radar and their girlfriends on the road trip of their lives.

I feel that this book is a good read because it tugs at the heartstrings. In the first part, you think that Margo and Quentin will become lovers but the next day, Margo disappears. It shows the adventures that Quentin embarked on and the loyalty of his friends as they follow him through it all. The ending however, is definitely not what you would expect. If you want to find out more, you should definitely read this book.
